Who We Are

The Lord’s New Church which is Nova Hierosolyma (The Lord’s New Church) is an international church with several locations around the world. We are a branch of what is commonly called The New Church, also known as the Swedenborgian Church.
 
Teachings of The New Church are founded upon the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Theological Writings of Emanuel Swedenborg.
 
In particular, The Lord’s New Church teaches that the Theological Writings given through Emanuel Swedenborg are Divinely inspired and as such are the Third Testament of the Word.
 
We are committed to learning, teaching, and living according to the Divine Truths from the Word of God in His Three Testaments.

• There is One God in Whom is the Divine Trinity, and He is the Lord Jesus Christ. 
• God’s Church is universal and all are in it who live a good life according to their own religious belief.
• Goods ought to be done because they are of God, and from God.
• We were created to be useful; heavenly life consists in doing what is useful to God and to others.
• God casts no one into hell, since He is Good Itself, Love Itself and Mercy Itself. The freedom to choose good or evil is given to each person by God. Choosing good leads to Heaven; choosing evil leads to hell.
• Evils ought to be shunned because they are not of God or from God.
• There is life after death.
• There is marriage in Heaven. A true marriage continues for all eternity if God is worshipped and each partner chooses to live a good life that leads to Heaven.
• The Second Coming of the Lord has taken place. The Lord said He would come again in Spirit and in Truth. This Second Coming is not in Person, but in a New Revelation of His Word that teaches people about His Divine Human, the spiritual sense of His Word, life after death, and many more spiritual truths previously unknown.​      ​
